Winter spearfishing wetsuits
Spearfishing wetsuits for diving Winter
Winter spearfishing wetsuits In the Mediterranean in Winter the water is around 9 / 12°C. thanks collaboration to the Alpha Leader in the production of tailored garments with exclusive neoprene and linings that cannot be replicated by any company in the world.
We have tested the best Alpha wetsuits which boast many types of smooth split neoprene lined with various compounds, coated, metallite, scs, many internal linings of all types that are usually used for surfing and freediving wetsuits where you do not soak much time.

wetsuit tests in the sea
The sea tests saw us use three types of winter wetsuits Split Smooth 7mm – Split Lined 7mm – Smooth Internal strech lining 7mm in a sea around 13° 12°C, in real fishing days of 3 hours soaking without ups and downs from the dinghy.
The first two winter wetsuits tested have the same thermal insulation power in and out of the water, softness, comfort, resistance to compression. In addition to providing superior comfort and softness compared to the inner lining, the internal split creates a suction effect and is far superior when it comes to infiltrations.
Inner lined wetsuit
The third smooth wetsuit with ultra-stretch inner lining, qualities that are certainly more robust, but much less hot after an hour and a few infiltrations I was frozen, the 2mm or 3mm is certainly excellent in summer if you go up and down from the dinghy but to be discarded when fishing from land and you fish in the water for 3 or 4 hours.

Winter wetsuit
But let’s get to the most important thing: protection from the cold. Well, with this 8mm I easily made my winter outings both from land and dinghy with outside temperatures approaching 0 degrees. The suit keeps you warm perfectly.
It is certainly important to use it with the right accessories: gloves and shoes. If you are considering buying this wetsuit for lake fishing in winter I definitely recommend the 8mm, otherwise the 7mm is sufficient for dinghy trips in the Mediterranean even on the coldest winter days.
Clearly if you are particularly sensitive to the cold or if even in winter you don’t give up staying in the water for several hours, the 8mm can give you a little extra warmth without impeding your movements too much.
